Default See this Aftermarket Navigation for Venza and tell me your opinion

I am planning to buy aftermarket Navigation screen to my Venza. Will this fit my Venza double din size. Do I need special kit.

This screen costs less than US$ 400 and made in Hong Kong.
I have found many chinese made nav. dvd screens for other toyota cars like highlander, landcruiser, camry, corrola and prado but I am not sure wich one is similar to Venza.
What is the size of the Double din of Venza?

Thank You & Best regards

Hi Venzed.

Yes, it will fit your Venza but you will need a dash kit to make it look like a factory install. There are two companies that make Venza dash kits: Metra (part no. 95-8225G) and Scosche (part no. 010TA2104B). There are many places to buy these kits and a wide range of prices. Google to find your best deal. You will also need a whole whack of plug adapters to connect to the Venza wiring harness including Toyota to ISO, antenna connectors, etc. Finding all the parts can be challenging and time consuming.

Having said all that, I'm not sure you really want to go this route.

I recently bought a similar model to the one you are interested in (Erising ES905G) and have been very disappointed with it. If you check the GPS forums you will find all the Chinese-made units are troublesome in one way or another, especially the firmware and user functionality. All the Chinese units are just slapped together and poorly thought out.

In the case of my unit, the hardware is of reasonable quality and seems to work OK but the user interface is a disaster. Menus cover each other up, parts of the interface are in English and others are in Chinese, the functional logic is confusing and unintuitive, the English prompts often don't make any sense, and the manual looks like it was translated from Chinese to English using Babblefish. The manual is totally useless.

The unit's Bluetooth implementation made no provision for voice dialing even though the hardware is capable of it (outgoing calls are NOT hands-free in other words), and the GPS defaults to PIP with no way to change the default. Before you can use the GPS you have to punch the screen several times to dismiss the over-laying Picture-In-Picture screen. Really annoying.

Overall, it have come to the conclusion that the unit is not really usable. As a software developer myself I get quite upset when I see this kind of shoddy programming. BTW, I have done quite a bit of research and it seems all the various units license their firmware from the same two Chinese companies so no matter what model you buy you will probably wind up with the same problems as me.

I would think very hard before buying one of the Chinese no-name units if I were you.

Regards and hope this is of some help.
