Default Garage Door Opener

Trying to program my garage door opener to the Venza. As instructed, holding my remote within two inches of the overhead console and pushing the remote button along with the Venza button for 20 seconds. Only red light on the Venza showing is steady on, not blinking. Tried the roaming button on the garage door opener itself and holding the Venza button down didn't work either. Any other ideas out there?

Thanks, Laidback

I don't have the manual with me (it's in the car) but there are 2 types of instructions. If you have one type of Garage Door opener the above directions work. If you do not ( and I don't) a different set of instructions are required. The manual is not well laid out for this and it wasn't until the first instructions didn't work did I see there is a second set for a different style of opener. Maybe your opener uses the 2nd set of instructions. I have yet to pair mine with our garage doors - it's either been too cold or too many mosquitoes.

Thanks. Finally went by dealer. They reset all the overhead buttons (hold them all in until they clear as indicated by the light). Once reset, my remote was able to program. Not sure why they needed to be reset. Must had been someone playing around with the car before I bought it.
