| Hi All I just bought a 2010 Venza V6 FWD 2 weeks ago. I am a bit concerned about the fuel economy. Coming from a 2007 Honda Civic 1.8L it is a drastic change as the engine is literally double the size of the civic so more gas is completely understandable but I think it's taking a but too much gas. Also the RANGE info on the screen is different everytime I fill the tank. It said the vehicle will go over 500 kms in the initial fill ups and it kept coming down and yesterday it was 480 kms. Does that keep changing with the driving habits? How does it work? I know fuel consumption is subjective and really depends how you drive, where you drive and the distance covered everyday. In 2 weeks I have realised I get around 480 kms in a tank or more specifically in 60litres as it has a 67 litre tank and I am able to fill around 60 litres. I was initially going to get the 4 cylinder FWD but ending up getting the V6 as the price difference was only $10 a month. But I guess I am paying more in gas now. I also met this lady at the Toyota dealership and she told me she gets 600 kms with her L4 AWD. Can anyone shed some light on the issue please? Is anyone else in the same boat? Has anyone compared L4 and V6 fuel consumption? Regards, Murad

| I'm up in Toronto and have had my 2011 V6 AWD for almost 2 months now. I drive around the city over a few hills, on city streets and the highway doing about 50% city and 50% highway. I avg 12.5 ltrs/100 kms most of the time (19mpg) which is very disappointing as I was expecting it to be in the range of 10ltrs/100kms or 23mpg Wish Toyota would have made the Venza a few pounds lighter. |

| I'm on Vancouver Island which doesn't have a whole lot of flat ground. My wife and I both drive the Venza but her more so than myself. With both of us sharing the driving at any given time at an average of 60kmph we do approximately 10.2L/100 average and I have bumped that up to 8.11L/100 at 120kmph with a good tail wind and flat highway. I don't drive the car hard but then I don't drive like Granny on her way to church. Guess it all depends on how much lead is in your shoes. 2010 V6 AWD full load no nav. PS: I think what some people are getting confused with and myself included at first, up here in Canada, we are being mislead by the manufacturer sticker consumption report, not sure about the US. I've checked this out with some other car makes and they're pretty much the same. L/100 and mpg are both shown as say for example 10.2L/100 or 27.69mpg but this is imperial measurement while US measurement would be 23.08mpg. Check it out next time your at a Dealership and figure it out yourself. Go ahead correct me if I,m wrong. Last edited by Giterdone; 10-30-2011 at 10:23 PM. |
