Default OEM tires and where you live

I would like to see a poll of forum users to see what tires their Venza came with and where they live/bought the Venza. I have issues with my Goodyear Eagle (noisy at low speeds). I notice the premium Michelin Latitudes are going north of the border and Goodyears are south of the border. Bridgestones are ????. I think this would be very interesting and informative.

My Venza was purchased at Evan's Toyota of Fort Wayne (Indiana). It came with GoodYears. I drove it for about 2 weeks and went back to the dealer and they replaced the GoodYears with Michiliens at NO CHARGE!

After looking at info on different sites, (I think including this one) I knew that there were issues raised with Bridgestone and other tires on the Venza. I was very glad to see that there were Michelin's on the one we wanted. The fact that they were twenty incher's was still a bit of a concern, but no longer. I like the way it rides and handles in general. I have not driven on snow or ice yet. I am considering Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 in a minus fitment, most likely 18". Tire rack has a lot of info. These particular Bridgestones are getting good reviews, and of course in the smaller size are less expensive than the original equipment size tire. This avoids repeated remounting every year, adds time to the stock tires too. Still have not decided on having a set of TPMS sensors installed on the snows, may go without, but I need to talk to Toyota.Venza came from Heartland Toyota in Bremerton, WA (West of Seattle, on the Olympic Peninsula)

I have a 2009 AWD with 45,000 miles. It came with Michelin 20 inch Latitudes and I have always rotated at 3,500 miles. Based on the current wear, I anticipate getting 55,000 miles out of them. The ride has been great and I havy been very satisfied with them. Live in Florida, but travel to North Carolina mountains alot.

Biggest concern is these are very expensive to replace at over $300 apiece. I am starting to look. Anybody have experience with Yokohama Parada's?

Our 2009 came with Michelins as well (Denver, CO) AWD. At 29,000, they still have 6/32nds left. I'm also starting to look at replacement, but not really wanting to pay the over $300 for the 20" Michelin tires.

The Yokohama Parada's are a better rated tire and less cost. Many Venza folks are switching to them. Maybe Michelin will come back into line?

I bought mine in Toronto, ON, Canada and it comes a set of Michelin tires! These tires work fine in the summer but a little freaky in the Winter as we have loads of snow in some days.

I made the jump. Figuring life is too short and the Venza too fine, I ordered Yokohama Parada Spec X tires to replace the Goodyear Eagles. I have heard many good things about the Paradas, and many bad things (like..NOISE) from the Goodyears. My tire store will give me $50 bucks each for trade in, but it still puts me out $800 (free lifetime rotation and service though). Why doesn't Toyota just equip the car with decent tires from the git go??

I tried to get a swap at my Toyota dealership for the Michelins, even went up into Toyota Customer Care (NOT). But was stonewalled and told "this is not a safety issue". I guess a quality issue is not enough to care about

The tires should come in Tuesday after Christmas. I will let folks know then.

I have posted before regarding my 2009 AWD with Michelin Latitudes. Today, I took the car in to rotate which I have done religiously every 3,500 miles. It currently has 46,000 miles. I noticed some wear which has not been present before which I found is called "disbonding. It appears as a severe wear around the circumference of the tire on the interior of the tire not associated with alignment or tire pressure. It manifests as little chunks of tread wearing out.

This has only appeared since the last rotation 3,000 miles ago. I called Michelin and they said this was a warrantable item, but they did not offer any history of this with the Latitudes.

Fortuneately, when I purchased the car, I also purchased from Discount Tire their road hazard warranty. They are replacing all four tires with only a charge for the road hazard warranty on the new tires.

Undoubtedly, this car has more miles than most and I might have an isolated experience, but I am told that this kind of defect typically happens in manufacturing batches. The car was purchased in January 2009 in Florida so would be interested if anyone else has had this problem.
