I purchased on 7/17/09 and also have that same rattle. It seems to appear more often when I hit road bumps (small or normal). I will contact service center and see if they mention the windshield re-installation. Please share any other fixes you hear of! thanks! I really do enjoy my venza!

I haven't actually heard the rattling while driving, but I did notice that the drivers side front quarter panel on my Venza is loose at the highest point closest to the lower right corner of the window. Press on that area of the panel to see if yours is loose too. I can easily see how this could rattle on bumps. I need to drop by the dealer for them to check it out.

Removing the windshield! I'd get another opinion. I'm suspicous that the dealer may be simply generating extra revenue by billing Toyota for unnecessary warranty work. |

My 09 is ticking from left side dash. It comes and goes. Mentioned it twice at the dealer and they confirmed it but report that they do not have time to diagnose... I will press them for a solution as it bugs the crap out of me sometimes.

I have a rattle on the passenger side, where the vent is next to the small triangle passenger window. It seems to be temporarily solved by applying some pressure to the plastic piece that is in between the main dashboard and the window. But a permanent fix is needed. Also have an annoying chrip that sounds like it is coming from the steering column that comes and goes without warning. Both the dash rattle and the chrip happen when going over bumps in the road. I am hesitant to have the dealer do anything drastic as they could make it worse, or damage something like they did when they replaced the radio unit.

I too had the ticking/rattle sound in the left hand side of the dash near the window. My Venza was in the dealer twice before they identified the problem. I think they had to take most of the front of the car apart to figure it out - dash, fenders, etc. In the end it was "something" that they put foam insulation around and the sound has gone away. Frustrating for a new Toyota owner but they did fix it.
