After just two weeks and 800 km of owning our new Venza V6, I'm hearing a ticking rattle inside the dash on the left side. It sounds like a screw or clip of some sort has gotten loose and hits metal or plastic every time the car dips suddenly while driving or hits a bump. It's coming from inside the dash what seems to be beyond the driver's vent or possibly deeper. Can't pinpoint it from the surface, nor with my bare hands from underneath the dash. It's driving me nuts. Anyone with this rattle or any ideas what it can be? Not sure if this warrants taking the car in to the dealer and if they'd fix it, but if it's fixable myself, I'd rather do it myself and avoid the hassle and time of bringing the car in. BTW, love the car/crossover, just somewhat disappointed in the sudden unexpected rattle. Thanks

I feel your pain because rattles are really hard to pinpoint. have you looked up under the dash to see if maybe there's a loose wire or cable that's slapping the steering column? By the way welcome to the site!

Don't know if it helps but I have a popping noise in the lh side of my dash that is driving me nuts along with a ticking noise on semi rough surfaces. While troubleshooting, I found a connector in the far upper lh corner chaffing on structure. You can reach straight up between the fuse block and the knee airbag module. I wrapped some foam tape around it & the ticking is gone!!! Still have my "pop" though

My Venza has 1000 miles on it and it just started making a ticking noise in location described above. Should I take it into the dealer? Is there anything they can do?

You can and they'll try to find it for you. If you do and they fix it could you let us know what it was?

Thanks everyone for your responses - much appreciated. What's interesting is that the ticking is now gone, by itself! This stopped at around 2300 km (1400+ miles) and the car is now rock solid. It's as though there was a connector or clip of some sort that might have moved out of the way of contact against another surface (consistent with panthress post). Bartamaeus, hopefully you have the same "luck" as I did. If it does return, I'll try pantherss' fix. Give it a couple more weeks, you never know.Good luck! | We have a ticking rattle that sounds like it is coming somewhere near the glove compartment. I have taken everything out of the glove compartment, but the noise is still there. It does seem to have gotten less noticeable the more miles we have driven. But it is still irritating. |

Have any of you experienced a "pop" in the drivers side of the dash?? It's driving me crazy. The dealer has tried to fix it twice but its actually getting worse!!

Ticking on left side of dash may be coming from windshield. Dealer tells me they have to remove the windshield and reinstall it to eliminate the anoyance. Has anyone had this fix applied?
