Default Toyota Venza Seat belt warning chime. (Disable)

This works on the FJ Cruiser and I need someone to try it on the Venza. There's another way to disable it that's a little more complicated so before posting it I'd like to see if this'll work.

From the off position:
  1. Turn Key to ON
  2. Within 6 seconds, press and HOLD the odometer button
  3. Wait 12-14 seconds (count 1 one-thousand, 2 one-thousand.....)
  4. Buckle your seat belt
  5. Let go of the odometer button and press it again
  6. Wait a few seconds until it clears and goes back to the odometer with your mileage displayed.
or you can try this sequence. I think it is outlined in the manual somewhere.
  1. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until odometer displays "ODO"
  2. Turn the ignition switch "Off"
  3. Turn the ignition switch "On"
  4. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately (within 6 seconds after turning the power switch on) and hold it down for 10 seconds or more
  5. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the Passengers seat belt
  6. Check that the odometer displays either "b-on" or "b-off" (it will be "b-on")
  7. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off"
  8. Turn the ignition switch off.
  9. Turn the ignition switch on while depressing the brake pedal.
  10. Check that no seat belt chime sounds when setting in the front passenger seat.
Thanks!

May I ask why anyone would want to disable the chime? The easiest, and safest, way to shut it off is to buckle up.

I'm sure this is a bad habit, but I like to pull out of a parking space / driveway and then buckle up on the first straight-away. The chime is really making me question this habit.

Some of us live out in the country and do things where seat belts aren't required or needed so the chime is beyond annoying, A great example is if you deliver mail in a rural area where you drive your own vehicle and all the boxes are on the passenger side of the car.

That's an excuse, not a reason. I live in a rural area with rural carriers and EVERYONE of them drives a car modified so they can operate it from the passenger side. And I don't believe there's a state left that doesn't have MANDATORY seat belt laws.

well I mean, no point on arguing on this one, its your choice if your gonna buckle up or not, ofcourse, you'll pay the price if you dont, but I agree with squid, when I put a 20lbs package on my front seat or my dog jumps there (just an example I dont have a dog), the dang seatbelt chime goes crazy....so It might be a good idea for those people......

I had them programed out of my Highlander will do the same with the Venza per page 635 of the owner's manual. I stop at the mailbox to pick up the mail and then drive 200 yds. up a private road then 200 yds. up my own driveway.
If you think about it, there is no law that says you need an audible alert. And there is no law that says that there has to be alert for the passenger. There isn't any alert for a rear passanger to buckle up.
You can choose John

There is no page 635 of the owners manual, there is some info in section 6-2 on page 593. But I don't see a way of totally disabling the buzzer/chime in the manual.

There is a page 635 in my 2010 owner's manual. The item is called "Seat belt reminder" The function is called "Vehicle speed linked seat belt reminder buzzer" I don't know if that's what they did.
But I just got back from the dealer after having it done. They asked me if I wanted just the passanger side silenced or both sides. I had both sides silenced. No more chimes just the flashing icons on the dash.
