Default New member with new VENZA

Hello Folks

I signed up 6 weeks ago and I have had my VENZA now for 3 weeks. This is an awsome car, I just love it. I got the Pearl V6 AWD w/ leather package. I have the upgraded radio with Bluetooth. The back opens/closes with a push of a button. It has the smart key feature, Michelin tires, I traded the carpeted floor mats for the all weather ones (the rubbers are really nice but I should have aired them out a week before I put them in) and tomorrow it goes in for a remote start install. I did not get the panaramic roof, navigation or dvd.

It seems this forum is getting a littel bit of a slow start but I suppose there aren't many VENZA people out there yet. I look forward to reading what you all have to say about your VENZAs whether good or bad. I am sure this will get more intersting as more VENZA owners come aboard.

Randy

Hey Randy,
We have matching cars, we did however get the panaramic roof, we actually got all the options except the Nav & rear DVD, we got ours in AWD with the V-6 With Ivory leather.
These cars are awesome, like you we got the all weather mats but we kept the carpeted mats for summer

Hello... Just purchased a Pearl Venza with sand leather, moon roof and Nav. We originally had picked out the same car without the NAV but discovered as we were signing the papers that the RDS ( Radio Display System) does not work on the JBL 6 cd FM radio. only only the NAV system does the RDS feature work on the FM stations. MY wife had to have the RDS feature. So you can guess who won that argument. Really a nice car. Looking forward to our first road trip.

Wow, I'd never heard of RDS, I tried to google it but with no success...oh well, we ordered our car from the factory to get the exact car we wanted, where we live we don't have any use for the Nav so didn't get it

RDS ( Radio Display Service) is a feature where some radio stations transmit the name of the artist and song name. This will display on the screen of your radio. Not all FM stations transmit this information. I Live in the St Louis MO area and there are probably 6 to 8 stations that do and of course those are the most popular stations and most powerful. Its kinda nice to hear a song and think " Ha I like that" you can look and see the artist and the name of the song. Then you can go home and down load it to your ipod or MP3 player.

Thanks Jeff,
I guess I did know what RDS was I just didn't know what it was called, We ordered the JBL Synthsis system and it Does have RDS and my wife also loves it, if the dealer told you JBL didn't have RDS don't be surprized. our dealer told us that the Satellite radio funtion would not work until we installed a box to activate it, but when we took delivery the system was complete and we receive Satellite radio just fine. I was later told that the early cars wheren't so lucky.

Bliz, you just described my '08 RAV4. It was satellite capable but would not work without some sort of device added to it. I never looked into it. I bought the Venza thinking it would be the same way. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery coordinator showed me all the features of the radio.

Hey Randy,

I'm in the "dickering" stage of my purchase with the loacal dealer. The toyota brochure does a great job of displaying the colors. Since my wife hates the typical "white" colors, I'm thinking the Blizzard Pearl is that "pearlescent" rich looking whilte. Is this true? The added premium cost should be for this reason?
I like the golden mica, as well.
Thanks, and yes, it'll take awhile for things to rev up activity here. But, it appears, there's a good base forming.

Smile Enjoying my new VENZA V6 AWD

Nice Forum!! I took delivery of my Venza V6 AWD on July 28th and am very pleased with it!! Got a great deal, VERY close to cost...dealer wanted another sale in July...without paying for ToyoGuard or worthless Nitrogen dealer packs!! Although I have only about 300 miles on it, I am very impressed with its room, power, and surefooted traction (felt the AWD and TRAC kick in during a turn in the rain on the way home from the dealership...wow!)

My Venza is Classic Silver with Gray Cloth. I have the Panoramic Sunroof, JBL Synthesis Sound System with Bluetooth, Comfort Package (Pushbutton Start, Power Rear Door and Chrome door handles), Tow Package, and floor mats/cargo mat. I went online and ordered a leather-wrapped steering wheel from Wheelskins, and went to the Toyota website and ordered the bumper protector and wheel locks (MUCH cheaper than at the dealer!!). I needed more room than a sedan's room and access for my job, which involves large devices. Love the fold down seats, power rear door, and panoramic roof. Haven't seen any problems yet. Did notice a few gaps in the dash, but my former company lease car, an '09 Camry Hybrid, had the same gaps.

Do wish the TFT display was available without the back up cam, which I feel isn't worth it. Also wish the JBL system display showed more than the first 13characters when on an XM station and had better contrast, it tends to wash out in the sun when the roof is open. Didn't need the nav, have a Garmin Nuvi, and spent the $1400 for leather on the AWD, which I need when I drive up into the mountains of NC.

Has anyone noticed that the center console is "air conditioned" when you run the a/c for a period of time? Not that you want to store mayo or cheese in there, but it is noticeably cooler than outside the console, no doubt from the air flowing through it to the rear a/c vents. Something to think about if you want to store a can or two of soda, maybe!

Everyone wonders what the car is and is impressed with its looks. I just tell them it's an AWD crossover done right that gets up to 28+ MPG HWY (avg about 20 combined) and does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. Nice deal if you know how to bargain and don't load up on all the goodies!!
