Default Should I Buy a Venza

Hello, I've been doing some research on the Venza because I am interested in purchasing it. I am torn between the Venza and the Camry. I am a grad student and I need a reliable car. I read the forums I was wondering if you could give me any advice. This would be my first car so I want to make sure I am making the right decision!
Thanks

If you need to haul stuff then I'd go with the Venza. If it's just you and a friend at the most then I'd go with the Camry.

I highly recommend the Venza. Now with that said, it is a very different from the Camry. We particularly like the increased size and ride height. Our Venza has the I4 engine which provides excellent power.

Good luck.

Hi,

Like you, I'm in the market for a Venza. However, I have cause to pause, as there appears to be a few more quality issues, than I'd like see. I'm sure in your due diligence you have read the "quality problems" thread.
I'll wish us both, "Good Luck"!

I would like to say that I havent had that rattle in the dash that others have said nor any of the others except the loudness during hard rain. I had mine up on a lift and notices that there was NO undercoating and I figured this was the reason for that sound. I did some research and not many cars made nowadays are undercoated. I cant figure why due to now there is so much chemicals out there now and that increases the chances of rust. So I took it upon myself to lift up the car and used 4 cans of 3M undercoating. After 24 hours of drying, I lifted the car again and used 1 can of the cheaper "Merle Hyde" brand you get a walmart and just did a good final coat to just give it a last coat to protect the better quality 3M stuff. Since I have done this, our monsoon season of rain had quit so I havent had the chance to try it out. I will post a new threat about this after I do so.

Have a Great Day and I do recomend the car !!!

Hey Guys,
There are a number of forces out there whop believe that undercoating using whatever, product is a good idea. In a lot of ways, it is, for soundeadening! For true rust proofing, if that's the case it does a poor job in the long run. The long run being beyond 10 years! Yes, beyond 10 years! It's #1 use is sound deadening, For one, we rarely keep our cars for 5-8 years. The metals and paint procedures in place today, do a super job at rust preventative.
In fact, coatings can increase the likely hood of rust, not that most peiople today really experience seeing it. I just donated a 1998 Cadillac I've owned as from new, and it had one tiny spot in the trunk lid by the dealer advertisement. After 11 years!
So, don't worry about rust prevention and work toward sound deadening.
Good Luck and Play Safe!
