It seems that the Toyota Venza which is based on the Toyota FT-SX concept car unveiled back in 2005 will replace production of the Solara at the Toyota Manufacturing plant in Kentucky starting in November 2008 and Toyota projects sales of between 75,000-100,000 Venzas per year.

This was posted over a year ago well before the economy took a dump. What are the current sales numbers? Randy

There aren't any, Toyota is being real quiet about sales numbers except for the Prius which is selling great.

It' a very dissappointing car. Nothing like you'd expect from Toyota.

For those of you that want specifics, we have a new Venza 4 cyl 2WD. We are very dissapointed after 3,000 miles. Poor quality of workmanship, particularly interior gaps, squeeks and rattles. Dealer says windshield has to be removed and reset to eliminate one of the squeeks. The entire console has to be removed to correct a large gap on the dashboard. Car is noisy and has poor stearing and handling. Brakes are spongy but dealer said it is normal. Front doors rattle when closing and dealer again said it was normal? Too bad, because we traded-in a Nissan Murano which was much better quality or workmanship and materials.

Jack, sorry to hear you are experiencing similar issues as John. With the exception of a few owners such as you and John most responses have been relatively positive. A few have a rattle here and there but nothing near as major as what you are expeincing. The gap in the dash is relative to heat and component fit but actual root-cuase is still indeterminant. IF/when they fix the gap would you provide an overview as to what needed to be fixed replaced and why? That would be appreciated by those having gap problems of one degree or another..... so much plastic, so much grief!
