| Has anyone experience a noise, right when the car is cool and is shifting the first time. They told me at the Dealer that is the computer reseting. But I want to double check here. |

| I do hear the same noise when starting it cold is like a "chirping noise" not I haven't ask the dealer yet but I was about to call.... I find it hard to believe it would be a computer reset... I'll let you know what they tell me once I've asked the question and hopefully they'll tell me the same thing. |

I've not had any of these 'ills" from day 1 (August 10th 2009). Could the chirping be the automatic hill/grade feature alert when in reverse and on a grade? Good luck!

I do seem to recall there being a ticking noise TSB for some early build 09's with the 2GR-FE but that is VIN dependant.

| it might be the VSC/ABS system self diagnosis noise. the system activates the pump to check that al systems are running at ever startup.

| You know what, I take what I said back. I've noticed this noise too. It's on the 1-2 shift from a stop, and only when the vehicle has been sitting overnight and very cold. Only happens once and not any other time. It could be a driveline vibration, or it could be a self-check of some sort, but I doubt it because it's an audible clunk. I really don't know, but I'd like it to be fixed because it's quite disconcerting.

| I have the same problem. Only on cold starts. Once it has been started it does not happen again until it sits for a while. Getting ready to take to the shop as this does not seem normal. |

| Try turning the wheel to both direction before you take off, I have a feeling the sound is from the steering lock if you have push to start on the venza. |

| funny to read this - I'm a new Venza owner, just a week. I've noticed that when I start off on a morning drive, if it is quiet, I can hear a 'chunk' when I make the first right turn out of my driveway. Like you say - it only does it this once, and it's only noticeable if I listen for it. (I'll have to experiment with left hand turns every second day!) I'll ask my dealer about this also, and get back here with any answers. In the meantime - enjoying the ride! |
