Default 2010 Venza?

Was all set to buy a V6 AWD 2010 Venza and now I'm not so sure I'm ready to strap my family into this or any other Toyota vehicle. Seems like toyota is just shooting in the dark announcing recalls without knowing true root cause and fixes yet.

Thoughts? Feedback welcome. Test drives well, like the style and price.

From my point of view, it shouldnt be stopping you. This recall is such a rare thing that as I understand is happening in toyotas with worn out acc pedals....and the fix is on the way. Seriously, if people can think that one lil gadget like this can cause the #1 Automaker in the world to go down, they're not thinking far enough. I own 10 venza, this is my 3rd toyota. Love the car, just like I loved my tundra, and my camry. 0 problems whatsoever.
I have too much to say about this recall, but I'm not here to critisize anyone. I am also member on Toyota tundra forum, and just as an example, (Squid correct me if Im wrong) with close to 2-3 thousand members, Not a singe one of them posted to have a problem with their accelerator.....
anyways..... to get back to the subject..... in my opinion if you like the car go for it..... soon this "Big deal" will blow over and we wont even remeber it..., and as far as Venza, you're gonna love it....

I've owned a number of vehicles both foreign and domestic. The domestic vehicles I've owned have had recalls involving window electronics and cruise control electronics that could burst into flames while the vehicle was parked in the garage. In addition, we also got to deal with the tread separation problem that impacted a very popular SUV and tire brand. I won't bother going into the non-recall maintenance that we dealt with on our domestics - let's just say it was noticeable when compared to our Hondas that merely required oil changes / tire rotation.

The Toyota recalls are concerning but they are not indicative of a huge safety difference between Toyota and domestic brands.

Hi Gmanpsu85,
I think the Venza is the only Toyota not on a major recall list.
The all weather floormats when stacked on top of the carpet mats was the only issue on the Venza.
I have had my 09 Venza for 9 months and 6500 miles with no problems.
This is my first Toyota , and so far , I love the Venza.
I say go for it , but read more opinions and decide for yourself.

Happy Driving

I agree with MaddMaxx3 and his comment about the recall. Take the floor mat out and you don't have a problem - although my factory floor mats have the retaining hooks and the pedal is way above them so I don't see how they could cause a problem (unless they were not hooked on).
Anyway, we loved my Wife's Venza so much that I bought one also and they have been great. Not quite as good as her Jeep in the snow but acceptable with the stock tires.
Good luck!

Thumbs up Re: 2010 Venza?

Hi there just a comment on your concern re the Toyota recall. I have owned several Tototas ,Honda,s as well as ford and GM products, None are without recalls even this am Honda announced they have a re-call ! We have had our new Venza for approx two weeks and love it it has everything we are looking for + and I have no doubt Toyota will stand behind any issues that may arise. I for one am not concerned and all in a flap. If you would care to check the following site and enter any make and all models you will see that no manufacturer is immune from re-calls ,Purchase what ever suits you and enjoy the ride./RW

I have had my 2010 Venza for almost 4 weeks. Would I do the same thing now knowing what I do now? Easily yes. My previous car had 2 recalls one of which was a result of the engine bursting into flames without warning and I bet no one can say what car it is as it never became part of a media feeding frenzy.
The Venza fits my needs like no other car could so I am very happy with my purchase.
