Default Snow tires

Has any put snow tires on their Venza? I would like to get a set, but only Blizzaks are availabie in 20" and I really would like to get Nokians. Does anyone know if 16" or 17" wheels will fit?

unless you'e gonna use a taller tire, to equal the diamater of your wheels now, I wouldnt recomand it, bcuz you're probably gonna throw off the handeling of your car.

I'm thinking of using 18" wheels and a 65 series tire. I'm guessing if 19" come stock hopefully the 18" will work.

I hope this helps
My Toyota Highlander Limited came with 245/55/19" tires and where we live we need studded snows. No one makes studded snows for this size, or for our new 20" Venza tires. So I'm using 245/65/17" on the Highlander without any noticeable handling issues. And I'll use the same size on the Venza, it has the recommended 7" width .
If you go to Tire size calculator and input your tire size comparisons, you'll see that the 17" will only be off by .9 mph
But you should make sure the rims you use will clear the calipers. Out here I can use American Racing or Devino rims.
Good Luck John

Thanks for the info. I just seen that The Tire Rack finally added the Venza to there list and they have snow tire & wheel packages. They recomend 235/65/18. which I think would be perfect sive since it would be skinnier then the original 245/50/20.

Nokian does make a 255/35-20 studdable tire that would mount nicely on your original Venza 20" wheels, but they are $450 each (studded) and the diameter is 2.6" smaller than the original tires:

Nokian Studdable 255/35-20 Tire

Note that the Nokian tire has a 33.25 mm (1.3") shorter sidewall:

Original 245/50 sidewall is 122.50 mm
Nokian 255/35 sidewall is 89.25 mm
122.50 minus 89.25 = 33.25 mm = 1.3" shorter sidewall x 2 = 2.6" smaller diameter

If you don't mind running smaller wheels during the winter, Hankook makes a 235/65-18 studdable tire that costs a lot less ($165 studded), and it is almost exactly the same diameter as the 20" Venza factory tires:

Been running Blizzak Dmz-1 for last 2 winters, they are great. Paid 109$ at tireRack during summer. Bought 18" mags for 69$ as well to run those 235/18s.
The mag is 10in wide so the tire is a bit square but it runs great and handling is surprinsingly good. Dealer had offered 17" mags for a Rav4 but It felt like a strech from the 20inchers....happy I passed on that offer.

Recently bought a black used 09 venza from dealership up here in northern B.C. Canada and was wondering what to do about snow tires myself. To make life easy I got the 17" silver steel rims that come on Rav4's (that Fapril talks about) and corresponding Blizzaks directly from the dealership. (Folks in the U.S. can at least get tires cheaper at Tire.com or Tire rack) I knew that to find 20" studded tires in stock mid January was going to be a pain. I had the rims powdercoated black to match vehicle. You can also get tire pressure monitors for this rim/tire setup. Compact snow, black ice, ton of snow are the norms in winter here yet the Blizzak DMV1's are working fine. And have much better driving capabilities compared to Toyo G02Plus that I had on my Rav. Cheers.
