We have a 2009 venza with a full glass roof and was very disappointed when we found out that Toyota doesn't make a roof rack for this style roof. Well, Yakima makes a very sturdy rack system for this vehicle. It took about 30 minutes to install and its way better than the factory rack on the venza with a regular steel roof. Also it locks to the roof for security and can be rermoved in minutes. We also mounted a Yakima ski rack for 2 sets of skis and 2 snowboards. We also needed a little more cargo space and modified an all weather plastic golf club case(approved airline container) to the rack(that we got at Academy) for 59.00 instead of the expensive roof top cargo carriers for 250.00 for an inexpensive one and they go up from there. It ads just enough room for ski boots and snowboard boots and a few extra goodies. All it took was 4 stainless steel u bolts and drilling a few holes in the bottom of the case. It is very sturdy and feels much stronger than the Thule brand roof top Carrier. Hope this helps someone else out. We love our venza!!!!!

Has anyone tried the Thule rack? I am interested in the toughts of those that have. Another thing I am interested in is a hitch. I have found quite a few companies that manufacture them and have seen their thumbnail pics. I would really like to see a picture of a Venza with the hitch mounted. I have always purchased Hidden Hitches becasue I don't like to see the hitch hanging below the body but I see that one isn't made for the Venza (I guess because it wouldn't work).

I have the stock Venza Roof Rack and first went with the a Yakima Bike Rack. The Yakima interfered with the hatch opening fully and was pretty loud when moving above thirty MPH. I returned it and went with the Thule it was much quieter, had a better fit and looked better.
